DJ performing with live saxophone and drums
DJ · Sax · Drums · Percussion

The DJ,
gone live.

A DJ alone fills a floor. Add live sax, drums, bongos or brass and it becomes a show. This is the format we built our name on.

DJ Live

Club energy, live spectacle.

The DJ-live format is simple and devastating: a professional DJ reading the room, with live musicians playing over the top — saxophone solos on the drops, live drums driving the floor, bongos and percussion locking the groove, brass stabs on the classics. It's the energy of a club night with the spectacle of a gig.

Riff Shop — DJ, drums and sax — was born from a Dublin club residency and has taken the format to Croke Park and the Aviva. Drop The Pressure brings house, garage and dance classics; Good Life adds live vocals to the mix. Want bongos, extra brass or a vocalist on top? Every line-up is modular — we build the act around your night.

Booking for a wedding? The DJ-live format is our most requested wedding after-party. For brands, see corporate events.

Good To Know

DJ Live questions.

What is a DJ-live act?

A DJ performing alongside live musicians — typically saxophone and drums, often with bongos, percussion, trumpet or vocals added. The DJ mixes continuously while the musicians play live over the tracks, so the floor never stops but every song feels like a performance.

What combinations can we book?

DJ + sax, DJ + sax + drums, DJ + drums + bongos, DJ + brass, DJ + vocalist — or all of the above. The format is modular; tell us the energy you want and we'll build the line-up.

Is it suitable for weddings?

It's our most requested wedding after-party act, and increasingly couples book it as the main event — two hours of DJ-live instead of a traditional band set. It also works brilliantly for drinks receptions with a lounge-style set.

Do you play corporate events?

Constantly — product launches, summer parties and Christmas parties for the likes of Google, Meta and KPMG. The format scales from background sophistication to full dance-floor takeover in the same night.

What do you need from the venue?

A standard power supply and a space for the setup. We bring PA, lighting, decks and instruments, and our engineer runs the sound all night.
